Already
mid-year, and it is time for an update from Africa's premier
elephant back safari operation. We have had an exciting year
to date, and have welcomed many new visitors, and some old friends
too.
To kick off this edition of Camp Jabulani's news, we have included
a wonderful piece written in our guest book by guests of Harley
Davidson South Africa who participated in the Harley on Safari
journey. Florence and Martin Rothman (UK) said:
" This place touched my soul. What a privilege. What an experience.
Thank you so so so much!
This is our final newsletter edition for
2007. And what a bumper edition it is! We have some very exciting
news and stories to share with you, and hope that you will enjoy
the gorgeous images of a new addition to our herd.
There is much to report in our final
newsletter for 2006. This has been an exceptional year for us.
We have much to be grateful for and are humbled by the support
we have received from our colleagues, friends and guests.
Just home from Indaba 2006, we’re
still excited and very upbeat at the feedback that we received
there from tour operators and other delegates. It appears that
you who market and sell our product are just as excited
about it as we are. Thank you for your support.
We are under the impression that
the restructuring of our rates has been well accepted. However,
we would like to remind you that we are happy to use both the
inclusive and exclusive rates, whichever you prefer.
As we prepare to enter the second
quarter of 2006, we felt it would be fitting to summarize
the happenings at Camp Jabulani over the last three months in a
drive to ensure that you, our valued partners, are kept up to
date with our unique product.
Camp Jabulani represents the
most cultural of African Experiences. In the field, experience
an angle of the African bush in harmony with all of the elements
of nature – on elephant back. The foundation around
which Camp Jabulani was conceptualized, and which remains
central in every element of our operation is the group
of 12 elephants who have us as their ambassadors. It is to their wellbeing
that we are committed.
Elephants have strong individual personalities that
affect how they interact with other elephants, how others perceive
them, and how well they are able to influence members of their
group. Some elephants are popular while others are not. Some elephants
show great leadership qualities, others do not; some are kind
and out going, others are more self-absorbed.
