TOKWE (FEMALE)
Tokwe takes her role as matriarch of the herd very seriously, and acts as if she is the mother of all the juveniles. If Tokwe doesn’t go for a swim at the dam, none of the baby elephants will go into the water.
Tokwe has a friendly character and is a true leader – commanding respect from both animals and man. She has a good relationship with the other female elephants. Tokwe, Lundi and Fishan grew up in the same region, and enjoy spending time together.
