Jabulani (MALE)
The namesake of the Jabulani herd, 16-year old Jabulani was abandoned and left orphaned at the tender age of 4 months and hand-reared by Lente Roode with her team at Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. The herd at Camp Jabulani has given him the sanctuary of family, but he takes full advantage of the privilege of being the mascot!
Jabulani is a somewhat stubborn, playful elephant that loves people and adores all the attention he gets from guests and staff. He will always lead the team on safari, and quickly rushes back to his position should it be “usurped” by another while he stops for a leafy snack.
He is growing into an impressive animal, and promises to be a very large bull when fully mature.
